Book Review

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.
Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.
In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything. This is what Beautiful Creatures is about and I found myself instantly drawn to this book by Kami Garcia, this had has never happen to me with any other book. And I was shoked when I start reading the book, it bored me at first.
Beautiful Creatures takes place in Gatlin, the most boring and unique town I had ever heard of. Once I got more into the book, I realized that is one of  a kind book.
Along the book Ethan finds himself fallen in Love with Lena, a girl who no one talk to, and someone who to everyone's eyes was a witch, but to Ethan she was a beautiful creature, and one of a kind. Even thought he did not know that there was a dark secret hidden in Lena's family, that not even Lena knew about.

Current Connection 2: Youth Who Shot Classmate Felt He'd Been Bullied

In a recent article published by CNN, and reported by Michael Martinez on January 10, 2013, CNN inform that a 16-year old student blasted a California High School classroom with a shotgun Thursday was targetting two classmates because he felt he'd been bullied, the local sheriff informed Thursday night. Michael Martinez and CNN main idea is to informed how bad the school shootings continue to happen, and that we all have to find a way to stop this.

One student was hit and was in critical but stable condition. Thursday night, and the shooter was in custody after a teacher and the school's campus supervisor talked him into putting his gun down. In additiion to the wounded student, who was being treated in a Bakersfield hospital, two older students, both girls, suffered injuries in the confusion of the terrible accident.

The shooter did not only shot the person he thought that was bullying him, but in his madness, he also shot people who were innocent of everything. Including the boy who was supposley bullying him, in my opinion his also innocent, because being bullied by someone does not mean that you have to killed that person, to take revenge. You have to talk to that person, or a counselor in tell them what's happening and how you can out a stop to it.

One girl apparently close to the shotgun blast was taken to a hospital with hearing damage, authorities said. The second girl received minor injuries trying to flee, authorities said.

This shooting's had been happening all over the United States, and we must do something to stop them. They had already taken away to many innocent lives. Like the recent shooting where a guy killed alot of children in a kindergarner.

The gunman fired directly at one student, who was hit, then as student's rushed to flee, the gunman fired again, youngblood said. The teacher suffered a pellet wound to the head form one of the shot's fired earlier, authorities said.

Many innocent kids have died because of this shootings, innocents who had dreams, and futures. And everything was taken away from them without a reason.
